Despite the rain, South Ripley High School seniors continued their long-standing tradition of riding the senior float at the annual Pumpkin Show festival. The festival, which has been a community staple for 122 years, is deeply woven into local history, with the tradition of the senior float stretching back over 50 years.
Dressed in rain gear but full of excitement, the seniors took pride in upholding the legacy of those who came before them. “It’s a rite of passage,” said one senior. “Even with the rain, it’s something we’ve been looking forward to since we were little.” The seniors were able to ride the "Delirium" and also start the new tradition of taking their senior picture at the Holdsworth Pavilion. The weather didn’t dampen spirits as the community came together to celebrate another year of Pumpkin Show memories.
