South Ripley Raiders Capture IHSAA Sectional Championship with 76-60 Win Over Southwestern

Hanover, IN – The South Ripley Raiders are sectional champions! This championship marks the first sectional championship for SR since 2017. In a dominant performance, the Raiders defeated the Southwestern Rebels 76-60 to claim the IHSAA Sectional Championship on the Rebels homecourt.

Senior Cole Henry led the charge with an impressive 23-point performance, helping South Ripley secure the title. The team’s all-around effort was highlighted by strong contributions from Blaine Ward, Drew Volz, and Chancie Volz, all of whom, along with Henry, earned spots on the All-Sectional Team. Junior Bryson Sipples did a great job defending Southwestern's best player while Freshmen Eli Gilpin, Landon Werner, and Blake Gunter all made significant contributions in the Raider's win.

South Ripley set the tone early and maintained control throughout the game, executing on both ends of the floor to fend off the Rebels’ efforts. The victory marks another milestone for the Raiders, who now set their sights on the next challenge.

With the sectional trophy in hand, the Raiders advance to the IHSAA Regional, where they will face Forest Park on Saturday, March 15th, at Seymour High School. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. as South Ripley looks to continue their postseason run.

Congratulations to the Raiders on their sectional championship, and best of luck in the Regional!
