8th grade students were able to connect virtually with former SR grad, Cady Garcia, about her time spent in Europe and her recent visit to Auschwitz. Students studied the historical context behind The Diary of Anne Frank and are reading the play version in class.
Last call for Girls on the Run! They are needing 2 more runners and 1 more coach to sign up for the spring season at SRES. The sign-up information is also accessible in the SRES newsletter.

Senior Cole Henry scored 14 points to become the all time leading scorer at South Ripley, with 1,430 points.
Senior Blaine Ward led the Raiders tonight with 21 points. Huge crowd and a great night for SR!
Congratulations to Band Director Bradley Ziegelmaier and the SR Pep Band for an outstanding performance at the Pep Band Competition at Orleans High School. We won the following awards:
- Fan Favorite Award (out of the 11 other bands)!
- 3rd best overall in our class
- Electrofing Electronics Award

It's time to celebrate our second quarter SRES Honor Roll students!
I was explaining to a community member what I thought separated SR from other school districts. In my opinion it all comes down to things like this...We bring back more SR graduates to work in our district than most other schools. Our people are vested in the success of our students because this is OUR community. We have a culture of support and excellence that is not easily replicated. This new sign in our main hallway displays the teacher/heroes that graduated from SRHS and are back in these hallways supporting our students. I am proud to be one of those individuals as well. Thank you to Sturgeon Engineering for your work on this and I look forward to watching this display grow every year. GO BIG GREEN!
Our staff was here early this morning ensuring our corporation is even safer for students. Our Emergency Response Team practiced their sudden cardiac arrest drill in order to be prepared if any emergency arises in our buildings. We're thankful for staff that put in time to make our corporation a better place!

A great night was had out at SR last night as our Raiders beat Oldenburg 61-40. We were able to honor our teacher leaders, our Unified Athletes were outstanding , and our band/cheerleaders/student section proved why they are the best in the area! Go Big Green!
